CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Please note that these are general care guidelines. We recommend treating any non-water resistant materials with a protectant to ensure durability and longevity. It is important to carefully read and follow the directions of any color-safe cleansers and/or protectants before using. Contact customercare@clae.com with any other questions or concerns regarding the care for your CLAE's.

LEATHERS, NUBUCKS & SUEDES

NATURAL LEATHER: Full grain leather that has not been sanded, allowing the natural grain to remain for strength and breathability. The most durable and highest quality leather, it will develop a natural patina over time.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To clean, wipe with a soft, damp cloth.

2. To maintain, apply full grain leather cream or conditioner.

3. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

FULL GRAIN LEATHER: Full grain leather that has been sanded for a more uniform look and treated for color consistency and durability.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To clean, wipe with a soft, damp cloth.

2. To maintain, apply full grain leather cream or conditioner.

3. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

SOFT FULL GRAIN LEATHER: Full grain leather that has a small amount of pigment or clear finish that still allows the natural characteristics of the leather to show through while offering the benefit of color consistency and wearability.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

2. To maintain, apply full grain leather cream or conditioner.

3. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

PEBBLED FULL GRAIN LEATHER: Full grain leather that has been pressed to create a pebbled texture.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To clean, wipe with a soft, damp cloth.

2. To maintain, apply full grain leather cream or conditioner.

3. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

PULL UP LEATHER: Full grain leather treated with oils to create a smooth finish that offers moisture resistance. When stretched the oil separates causing the color to lighten creating intentional distressing.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To clean, wipe with a soft, damp cloth.

2. To remove scuffs and marks, use a cloth to rub, creating friction and heat to bring oils and color to the surface

3. To restore finish, apply oiled leather restorer with a soft, dry cloth.

4. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

OILED LEATHER: Full grain leather treated with oils to create a smooth finish that offers moisture resistance.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To clean, wipe with a soft, damp cloth.

2. To remove scuffs and marks, use a cloth to rub, creating friction and heat that will bring oils and color to the surface.

3. To restore finish, apply oiled leather restorer with a soft, dry cloth.

4. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

WAXED LEATHER: Full grain leather treated with waxy oil to create a matte finish that offers moisture resistance.

2. To remove scuffs and marks, use a cloth to rub, creating friction and heat to bring oils and color to the surface.

3. To restore finish, apply waxed leather restorer with a soft, dry cloth.

4. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

PATENT LEATHER: Fine grain leather that has been coated to give it a high, glossy shine.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To clean, wipe with a soft, damp cloth or use patent leather cleaner.

2. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

EMBOSSED LEATHER: Leather that has been imprinted with a pattern applied with pressure to hold a raised design.

2. To maintain, apply full grain leather cream or conditioner.

3. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

VEGAN LEATHER: Man-made, animal-friendly material.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To clean, dab with a lightly-damp cloth. Please note that water may dilute the color of the leather.

2. For deeper cleaning, use a gentle cleaning solution.

3. Wipe dry and store away from direct sunlight and heat.

NUBUCK: Leather that has been micro-buffed to create a soft, velvet finish that is more durable than suede.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To remove surface dirt, wipe with a soft, lightly-damp cloth. Please note that water may dilute the color of the nubuck.

2. To clean, apply suede and nubuck cleaner, carefully following instructions.

3. To protect, treat with suede and nubuck protector. 

4. Brush nap in the same direction for uniform color and avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

SUEDE: Split leather that has been buffed to create a soft, velvet finish.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To clean, dab with a lightly-damp cloth. Please note that water may dilute the color of the suede.

2. To clean, apply suede and nubuck cleaner, carefully following instructions.

3. To protect, treat with suede and nubuck protector. 

4. Brush nap in the same direction for uniform color and avoid storing in direct sunlight or near heat.

WAXED SUEDE: Split leather that has been treated with waxy oil to create a matte finish that offers moisture resistance.

TEXTILES

CANVAS: Heavy-duty plain-woven fabric made from cotton, hemp or linen that varies in weight and is considered sturdy and easy to clean.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

1. To clean, dab with a lightly-damp cloth. Please note that water may dilute the color of the textile.

2. For deeper cleaning, use a color-safe cleaning solution.

3. Use caution to avoid any leather accents.

4. Blot dry and store away from direct sunlight and heat.

TEXTURED CANVAS: Heavy-duty woven fabric made from cotton, hemp or linen that varies in weight and is considered sturdy and easy to clean.

WOOL: Woven textile fabric made from natural or synthetic fibers designed for durability.

OPEN CELL MESH: Open weave mesh fabric made from nylon designed for breathability.
