The CLAE Autumn/Winter 2012 collection represents an exploration in texture with a focus on touch and feel as well as texture and colour augmenting the often sophisticated visual profiles available. Materials at the fore include; textured, waxed canvas and wools to durable leathers to “create a dynamic tactile experience that reveals the subtle yet unique interpretations,” as the brand puts it.  First delivery highlights included the Richards, a modern interpretation of the Chelsea boot; and the Hamilton, CLAE’s new blucher toe mid-top.  Whilst the second delivery brings an array of color and texture to their most classic silhouettes (Ellington, Russell and Chambers (pictured).  The mixed effect of grained leather, waxed canvas and rich wools tread the line deftly between casual application and obvious modern sophistication.
